Nashua, New Hampshire-The war on Internet consumers in New Hampshire has become even more interesting after a company announced a new fiber service in dozens of communities, which will provide high-speed services at a price of $35 to $70 per month Broadband.

Consolidated Communications launched Fidium Fiber in multiple communities in New Hampshire, a new multi-gigabit broadband Internet service that the company claims to provide speeds 20 times faster than the national average. The company has priced 1 gig Internet at $70 per month for a one-year period, which includes installation and Wi-Fi equipment—no data caps, contracts, or required bundles. The service also provides two wireless extenders for free to ensure that the entire family can be covered in a larger location. The price rose to 95 US dollars per month in the second year.

The company also offers two other plans: 250 Mbps, $60 per month for one year ($85 per month after one year) and 50 Mbps plan, $35 per month for the first year ($55 afterwards). Customers who subscribe to automatic payment and paperless billing can enjoy a $5 discount.

"Fidium aims to provide a better Internet and WiFi service experience, exceeding customer expectations at every step," said Erik Garr, President of Consumer and Small Business at Consolidated. “We have listened to Internet users’ complaints about their current providers. We built Fidium from the ground up to provide people with the services of Internet companies they want and deserve. We provide ultra-fast and reliable gigabit fiber Internet that allows families to connect with each other. The community is thriving. Fidium makes everything simple, providing quality service, competitive prices, and a customer experience that makes people smile."

Patch communities with access to Fidium include Amherst, Bedford, Exeter, Hampton, Londonderry, Merrimack, Milford, Nashua, Portsmouth, Salem and Winnipeg Dem.

The company said the new location will be launched in New Hampshire every week.

The announcement came as customers streamed more content and "cut the power cord" for cable and cable TV, and the industry began to shift from cable TV and Internet products to faster speeds. Some companies, such as Comcast, have proposed to implement data cap excess fees in order to compensate for the loss of revenue caused by cord cutters. Comcast shelved New Hampshire’s data cap proposal until 2022.

Since acquiring FairPoint Communications in 2016, Consolidated has been expanding high-speed fiber optic services in the state for many years. The acquisition was completed approximately seven years after FairPoint’s bankruptcy, and communications in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont in 2007 after acquiring all of Verizon’s fixed-line telephone business.

Consolidated upgraded some Seacoast and Rockingham county communities in June.

Atlantic Broadband, another Internet company that provides services to New Hampshire after the acquisition of MetroCast, is also participating in the expansion and recently decided to provide services in Concord.

Consolidated has more than 36,000 miles of optical fiber in 23 states and is considered the 10th largest optical fiber supplier in the country.
